Ran the coast's underground, smuggling captives to freedom

Ran the coast's underground from a seat inside the shadow of a slave fort. She smuggled captives out through the fort's own kitchens, wells and sewers, along a route called the Back Gate Road, and by her death it had saved hundreds. She was killed in 1727, in the tunnel under the fort, holding the door shut behind a group who were still crossing.
