Status

Deceased

Date of Birth

1585 CE

Born in 1585 CE at York, Yorkshire, Katherine Proctor was the daughter of a York clerk, trained to keep records under pressure. The slayer mantle came in 1606 CE, in the shuttered streets of a plague summer, when she found a house where nobody had died and nobody had fled. Katherine never manifested a power; the edge came from Ledger Recall and quarantine seal and a silvered knife. During the plague year of 1631 she used the quarantine lists to track a vampire that had spread through the city. She was the first Proctor to wonder whether the Faulkners had their own version, and to want to read it. She died in 1636, worn out by three decades of hunting.
