Mateo Navarro

Veteran hunter slayer of Iberia, known as the Last Warden. Wields Danger Sense: Cold Spine. Feud with Mateo Ortiz never resolved.

Born in 1388 CE at Ibtio, a market town in Iberia, Mateo Navarro lived as a huntsman of the lord's wood until the war found them. The slayer mantle came in 1404 CE, when their sister was taken and they walked into the vampires' hall alone and walked out. Mateo moved out of harm's way before harm arrived, thanks to Cold Spine. Across 34 years Mateo burned out 10 nests hidden in cellars, tombs and cisterns. The rivalry with Mateo Ortiz, the Wretched Collector, never reached a final reckoning; Mateo died in 1438 CE quietly, after passing the mantle on. Mateo learned the craft under Folake Danjuma, the Ivory Spear.
