Naomi Merritt

Elite scientist slayer of North America, known as the Rising Lantern. Wields Predator Senses: The Long Ear. Feud with Pavel Morozov never resolved.

Born in 1980 CE at Hollowayton, a port city in North America, Naomi Merritt lived as a laboratory chemist until the war found her. The slayer mantle came in 1996 CE, after she killed a vampire with nothing but a broken table leg, an act the elders called a sign. The Long Ear sharpened Naomi's sight, hearing and smell far past any hunter's. Across 23 years Naomi ended a 4-year reign of terror in the hills around Vancemere. The rivalry with Pavel Morozov, the Gilded Duelist, never reached a final reckoning; Naomi died in 2019 CE when a hunt went wrong in the dark. Naomi learned the craft under Mina Ahmadi, the Last Ward.
