Held the mantle through the turbulent early decades of the new states: coups, civil wars and borders drawn by someone else. When a war split her country in 1967, she kept the Pride out of it. It sheltered the people on both sides, and she never told either side what it was doing. She is also the Maahes who found the way back to the groves: in 1965, she led the first expedition to the lands of old Punt and planted the first new saplings. She was killed in 1985.
