Salma Benali

Veteran assassin slayer of Maghreb, known as the Vigil Thorn. Trusted craft: Knife in the Dark. Died alongside their nemesis, Zineb El-Idrissi.

Born in 1977 CE at Babenir, a port city in Maghreb, Salma Benali lived as a retired intelligence wet-worker until the war found her. The slayer mantle came in 1995 CE, when the previous bearer fell in her arms and the mark crossed over. What Salma lacked in gifts was covered by Knife in the Dark, and a suppressed pistol with silver-tip rounds that never left the belt. Across 23 years Salma trained 5 lesser hunters who carried the fight forward. In 2018 CE Salma and Zineb El-Idrissi, the Ashen Collector, killed each other at Isyaa, and both legends stopped there. Salma learned the craft under Rin Watanabe, the Sworn Spear.
