Veia Almarus

Veteran assassin slayer of Iberia, known as the Sunlit Lantern. Trusted craft: Silent Draw. Feud with Vaso Orsanbao never resolved.

Born in 773 BCE at Vasromarino, a hill fort in Iberia, Veia Almarus lived as a palace assassin until the war found him. The slayer mantle came in 739 BCE, the night a feeding party wiped out his household, when he survived and woke with the mantle burning in his palms. What Veia lacked in gifts was covered by Silent Draw, and a oxhide shield and stake that never left the belt. Across 19 years Veia cleared 4 feeding grounds along Iberia's trade roads. The rivalry with Vaso Orsanbao, the Gilded Architect, never reached a final reckoning; Veia died in 720 BCE of a fever unrelated to the war.
