Youssef Bennani

Frontline engineer slayer of Maghreb, known as the Ninth Lance. Wields Super Strength: Gatetorn. Fell to their nemesis, Hicham Cherkaoui.

Born in 1702 CE at Namam, a mill town in Maghreb, Youssef Bennani lived as a railway engineer until the war found him. The slayer mantle came in 1733 CE, in the wake of a plague that he alone seemed immune to, though every healer swore he had died. Youssef's Gatetorn could lift a wagon from a ditch or tear a door from its frame. Hicham Cherkaoui, the Wretched Hunger, ended Youssef's tenure in 1736 CE; the mantle passed on and the vampire walked away. Ruby Gallagher, the Stone Lantern, trained him in the mantle's craft.
