Zuo Batoa

Veteran vigilante slayer of West Africa, known as the Burning Hound. Trusted craft: Rooftop Run. Fell to their nemesis, Kibae Kekau.

Born in 993 CE at Amabao, a toll-bridge town in West Africa, Zuo Batoa lived as a lone night watcher until the war found him. The slayer mantle came in 1018 CE, when his sister was taken and he walked into the vampires' hall alone and walked out. The mantle granted Zuo no gift beyond an uncanny certainty, so Zuo leaned on craft: Rooftop Run, honed with a ash-wood stake and iron mace. Across 8 years Zuo cleared 5 feeding grounds along West Africa's trade roads. Kibae Kekau, the Pale Warlord, ended Zuo's tenure in 1026 CE; the mantle passed on and the vampire walked away. Zuo learned the craft under Ebtasus Ararwen, the Vigil Shield.
