Signal Relay Backpack

A wearable relay unit built into a backpack frame, extending a team's communication range across difficult terrain simply by being carried along, relaying signals between separated members who would otherwise lose contact entirely.

Its added weight and bulk are a genuine burden over a long operation, and it works only as well as the route the wearer actually takes through the terrain.
