Signal Jammer

A palm-sized device that floods the surrounding wireless spectrum with interference, blocking phone signals, radios, and other wireless communication within its range, cutting off a target's ability to call for backup or coordinate with anyone outside the immediate area.

Its effect is entirely local and temporary, and it interferes with the user's own wireless equipment just as thoroughly, so any communication of their own has to happen before it's switched on or well outside its range.
