Suction Climbing Pads

A pair of powered suction pads strapped to the palms, each capable of forming a strong momentary seal against a smooth, non-porous surface like glass or polished tile, letting the user climb hand over hand up a wall that offers nothing else to grip.

Their seal fails quickly on a dusty, wet, or textured surface, and each pad needs a moment to release and reseat with every reach, making for a slower climb than a rope or a grapple.
