Portable Water Filter

A compact filter, either a straw or a small hand pump, that renders questionable water from a stream, a puddle, or an unfamiliar tap safe to drink within seconds, freeing the user from having to carry every drop of water they might need.

Its filter media wears out with use and eventually needs replacing, and it removes biological contaminants rather than every possible chemical hazard the water might contain.
