Facial Recognition Scanner

A handheld scanner that captures a person's face and checks it against a stored database within seconds, letting the user confirm an identity or flag a person of interest almost instantly rather than relying on a description or a memory.

Its accuracy drops meaningfully in poor lighting or against a partially obscured face, and it can only recognise someone whose data already exists in its database in the first place.
