Nunchaku

A traditional weapon consisting of two short, rigid sections joined by a length of chain or rope, swung in fast, looping patterns that generate significant striking speed from a compact package. The joint between the two sections also allows for trapping and locking an opponent's limb or weapon in a way a single rigid stick cannot replicate.

It is an unforgiving weapon to learn - a mistimed swing strikes the wielder as readily as an opponent - which means it tends to appear in the hands of fighters with genuine, dedicated training in it rather than as an improvised pickup.
