Segmented Bullwhip

A long, tightly braided leather whip, its tip capable of breaking the sound barrier on a well-executed crack - a sharp, disorienting report that can startle or distract a target well before the whip itself makes contact. At shorter range, the same length can be used to wrap and yank a weapon or limb.

It demands significant practice to use with any precision, and a poorly thrown crack does little more than make noise, so it tends to be a specialist's weapon rather than a general-purpose pickup.
