Spiked Flail

A heavy, spiked metal head connected to its handle by a length of chain rather than a rigid shaft, letting the head travel in wide, unpredictable arcs a rigid weapon simply cannot replicate. That unpredictability is its greatest strength against an opponent trying to read and block incoming strikes.

The same flexible chain that makes it hard to defend against also makes it genuinely difficult and dangerous to wield well - a mistimed swing can strike the user's own arm or leg, so it tends to appear in the hands of fighters who have specifically trained around that risk rather than as a casual pickup weapon.
