Twin Sai Blades

A matched pair of forged steel sai - a straight central prong flanked by two curved guards - carried one in each hand. The guards are built to catch and twist an incoming blade or baton on contact, turning a defensive block into a disarm in the same motion, which is the main reason they remain popular with fighters who prefer to end a confrontation without a killing strike.

They reward close, controlled range fighting over reach; against a longer weapon or multiple attackers spread out, a sai wielder has to close distance fast and stay there, since the weapon offers little advantage held at arm's length.
