Was Cú Chulainn a Metamorph?

The ríastrad, a violent bodily distortion in battle, described in detail by the earliest scribes who wrote the Táin down.

The short answer

The Táin Bó Cúailnge describes the ríastrad, a change that twists the hero's body and leaves him far stronger and almost beyond reason. The Archive finds the description consistent with a Class 3 transformative effect. The surviving manuscripts were written down centuries after the events they describe, which limits what can be said.
