Was Sun Wukong a Metamorph?

A literary invention with a known author and a documented drafting history. The Archive found nothing earlier to review.

The short answer

Sun Wukong first appears as a developed character in a sixteenth-century novel, with an identifiable author and earlier story cycles that the Archive has traced. Nothing in the record points to a living person behind the figure. The Archive rules the case out.
