Were the Berserkers Metamorphs?

Warriors said to fight without pain and without fear of blades. Some accounts read as a trained state, some as something more.

The short answer

Norse sources describe warriors who fought in a frenzy, felt no pain and were not harmed by fire or iron. Most of that can be explained by training, ritual and exaggeration. A small number of accounts describe effects that training does not explain, which is why the Archive has not ruled the group out.
